They all charge the same thing.

It's illegal in any State for Dentists to advertise their prices. The price fixing you ran into when you called is because they are allowed to get away with it. Have no doubt that prices would drop like a stone if advertising was legal and they weren't allowed to price fix.

What burns me is that dental assistants HAVE to work for a dentist. They are virtual slaves. In a free market situation, you would see teeth cleaning services set up like barber shops. And you would get your kid's teeth cleaned for $50 at Walmart while shopping on the weekend instead of having to take off work to go to the dentist with the child and pay $200.

Teeth would get cleaned a lot more often, dental health would be better, you could get advice from the cleaners about which dentist to use, good dentists could then be identified.

About labs.... I never used those guys, but know someone who did and was satisfied. Deep discounts compared to most other settings.
