So maybe their marketing skills, and their political connections, and their cash balance from previous successes will keep them out of bankruptcy, but that's not the same as being a vibrant, innovative, creator of wealth, that Obama seemed to imply that they where.

If they can create wealth and profits on their own, they can and should do without government support. If they can't, than their a hole for the government to poor money in to. Neither situation seems to be a good argument for Obama's ideas about government "investment".

Why can't they be subsidized forever? Especially if their products are green. Why doesn't the government just mandate their lights be bought?
