<<The iPhone is closed and Droids showing up after the fact took a significant portion of the market away from them. Now we hear talk of less than expected demand at Verizon, a huge distributor of droids. If the Verizon sales turn out to be weaker than expected, what do you think that will do to the "value" of Apple stock? >>

What was the iPhone USA market share when the Droid was introduced?

What is it today?

Thank you very much; very very much,

>> As Apple continues down this self-destructive path <<

Just as a request, do you know any other companies which are treading this same self-destructive path, because I would really like to invest in them! They make gobs and gobs of money year after year after year, have extremely satisfied user-bases, and are judged to be the most respected corporations on the planet...

You do realize that half of Microsoft Office sales are for Macs?

MS doesn't have to sell Office for Mac, but that would not be a good business decision.

Top 20 US companies by market cap:

I-node you or I can manufacture lots of arguments about why Apples "closed" platform should have failed, or should fail in the future, but that one stat, how investors value AAPL, makes the arguments silly. All the hand wringing doesn't amount to anything. Money matters.

Open, closed, upside-down, inside out, it just works. For consumers and (so far) for investors.
