COMS is definitely an awesome buy! AND

There is no doubt about 3 things-

1) 3com is a very dynamic company and will remain an industry leader

2) This is the stockmarket people! (in other words "The casino is always open")

3) Analysts? Give me a break...ya get more respect selling Amway.

There are 3 really interesting stories about COMS in thestreet.com - not sure its legal to cut and paste - but go check em out!

(AOL users, you may have to edit prefences (I did) under "Web Graphics" and uncheck the compressed graphics box)

Oppenheimer Notes Forgive me if this has been posted, but I just got it from my broker at Oppenheimer...dated November 7, 1997, by Networking Technologies analysts Randall A. Yuen and Naohisa Murakami, reiterate their strong buy, and to paraphrase, ..."we continue to believe that faster EPS growth is coming and are currently estimating over 10% sequential EPS growth in both Q3 and Q4 of FY 1998 driven by a number of new product cycles which are about to start as well as emerging cost synergies from the US Robotics merger......our expectations in the company's systems area remains essentially unchanged. We continue to believe that the systmes area can grow sequentially by rought 8% to $775 million in Q2 and then show even faster growth of roughly 9% in Q3...currently benefiting from a healthier environment for systems equipment...." Long COMS and believing this a great buying opportunity, give or take a hiccup to 25 or so!

<When Bay Networks was down it had losses in one quarter>

Andreas, just something I am very sure about is BAY never lost any money in any quarters. The lowest qtr six months ago it made 10 cents where the concensus was around 20 cents.

The losses you are referring to are one-time charges and they don't go down in history books.
