2/25/11 Contest Update
The Bulls got tripped up by the tumult in Tripoli, but Friday’s rally substantially trimmed the week’s losses.
At Friday’s close, the Nasdaq Biotech Index was up 1.27% YTD (vs. up 2.21% YTD a week ago) and the Contest median was up .73% YTD (vs. up .03% YTD a week ago). The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 4.83% YTD (vs. up 6.83% YTD a week ago).
Nice moves by ACHN and TSRX helped boost MCBIO’s portfolio (up 18.79% YTD) into first place. GENE’s portfolio (up 16.99% YTD) fell back to second place, with RKRW’s portfolio (up 15.81% YTD) in the No. 3 slot.
At Friday's close, 20 of the 38 Contest portfolios were in the black with 18 of the 38 beating the NBI.
Below is the Top Ten list. Also below are the Top 5 & Bottom 5 Stocks ranked by % Gained and % Lost for the week (foreign stock prices are not converted to US$ in these two tables).
Portfolio adjustments: None.
Have a terrific weekend biotechies!
(All corrections, especially adjustments for splits, greatly appreciated.)
