3/4/11 Contest Update
Despite the mayhem in the Middle East and a big rally day, stocks finished the week pretty much where they started.
At Friday’s close, the Nasdaq Biotech Index was up 2.96% YTD (vs. up 1.27% YTD a week ago) and the Contest median was down -.10% YTD (vs. up .73% YTD a week ago). The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 4.97% YTD (vs. up 4.83% YTD a week ago).
GENE’s portfolio (up 17.56% YTD) slipped into first place with MCBIO’s portfolio (up 17.07% YTD) dropping back to second place. RKRW’s portfolio (up 14.31% YTD) held on to the No. 3 spot.
At Friday's close, 18 of the 38 Contest portfolios were in the black with a mere 8 of the 38 beating the NBI.
Below is the Top Ten list. Also below are the Top 5 & Bottom 5 Stocks ranked by % Gained and % Lost for the week (foreign stock prices are not converted to US$ in these two tables).
Portfolio adjustments: None.
Have a wonderful weekend folks!
(All corrections, especially adjustments for splits, greatly appreciated.)
