I'm in the same boat. I work for the Federal government and the number of people that actually earn their pay is very low. I would say they could cut 30% of the workforce and do the same job. I've worked in 12 years in the corporate world so I know how much harder it was on the outside. Right now the government is a joke. They get paid twice as much and do 1/2 what you'd have to do on the outside. I would start with cutting all Federal and State workers pay by 10% and then reduce it 10% of staff per year. Especially the higher ranks.

In addition, in five more years, I will have worked at the hospital for 30 years and will then receive a pension of $9000.00 a month from the state of Florida for the rest of my life.

I'm sorry, but you probably won't. -ng-

On the slight chance that you do, you will find that hyperinflation will make it feel more like $90 per month. -ng-
