Middle Class is artificial. People who'd achieve middle classdom, where small businessmen and liberal professionals: Lawyers accountants and civil servants. Then Americans invented mass middle class. Ford paid enough for its salaried workers afford its products. America kick up that artificial creation real good as a result of WW II effort. Women could be put for work outside their houses creating a second salary for the family. But the social revolution in the 60s sent it up to stratosphere with President's Johnson Great Society State took part of the costs of the household, discretionary income in their pockets. Great Unwinding is bringing back to the mankind's average. Few rich masses of poor.
