All,

This is a nice article!

I am a little confused about the split with Nikon by Samsung - for some reason I thought SVGI was shut out completely. Does anyone else have that recollection?

Ian,

I am very interested in this statement from the article, "A Micrascan system was also used to develop the 256-Mbit DRAM in the alliance of IBM, Toshiba Corp. and Siemens AG."

Is this the joint venture fab that IBM and Toshiba are building? I remember that Nikon tools were to be used because Toshiba is responsible for production and Toshiba uses Nikon. I remember SVGI's CEO complaining. I also marked this situation as an important sign post for SVGI success. I thought that if Toshiba used a SVGI step and scan tool it would indicate that Nikon tools can't cut it! SO, is the joint venture referred to above the one operated by Toshiba?
