According to The New York Times, the private parties took place on the Caribbean island of St Barts over the last two years. Mariah was reportedly handpicked by Gaddafi’s son to perform in 2009 and was paid $1m to sing four songs… that’s $250,000 per tune!

I was thinking the other day...if 3 billion Chinese and Indians become as affluent as say middle class Americans, where do all the resources come from to enable and sustain that new consuming population? It seems that the earth is maxed out right now. If the rest of the emerging countries also follow suit and become like the US consumer, what then? It's all so surreal.
