It's supposed to be illegal to change the pump price on the fuel that was already delivered... but try and fight city hall... it's around $3.39 here, give or take depending on grade...

The Bio-fuel Scam

I learned something very interesting about using bio-fuel in our cars and trucks... aside from the already known fact that it costs more to make bio-fuel than it does to make regular gasoline and that it obviously competes with our food supply... but also, it burns faster, so if you're able to get 400 mile on a tank of gas, you only get 320 miles on a take of bio-fuel... this means it costs significantly more than what it first seems... this is from direct experience of a good friend of mine who had been getting 500 miles a tank on regular diesel for his truck, but only 400 miles a tank on bio-fuel... he went back to standard diesel and his mileage went back up to 500 miles per tank... anyone using bio-fuel is only pissing their money away, you might as well burn it...

I can't remember the last time California prices were at that level. Count your blessings. We are nearing $4 in some areas.

Yea, we have commie rule here...

Gasoline over $4 for premium in CA near me (2 of 3 cars use premium) and I think over $4 for regular in some places like SF.

AT&T raised their basic rate for my 2 land lines 50%... with all the taxes, it is not as large an increase.

DISH raised rates about 6%... now over $100/mo for all I get.

Mortgage: ARM is lower this month ... 3.0% vs 3.25% last 12 months. Now Set for the next year at 3.0%. Index is LIBOR plus 2.25%. Will probably lock in to a fixed if we get another recession in the next 12 months or pay it off if we recover and LIBOR starts to go up. Until then, the lower cost probably nullifies the inflation in the above items.

I doubt my low ARM payment is "typical" so the CPI should continue higher in the months ahead. I bought some 30 year TIPS a few weeks ago and they are up about 6% already... As more people look for inflation protection, the spread that was over 2% will shrink then you multiply that by the duration... it could give a 30% gain if the spread drops to 1%.
