Doug, I've been keeping an eye on the Transportation Index, I believe another intermediate slide without an upturn in the DOW Industrials would give confirmation that we are changing trend. If the DOW starts acting up again I'm sure we'll see an assortment of fire sales around. Arakis will probability be at the top of the list, not that they necessarily start in alphabetical order. On the other hand, with pipeline news right around the corner maybe the shakeout will not be so bad, or more likely short lived IMO.

<(Christians,Animists comprise 40% ofthe Sudan's population base now) don't know why, but assume that it's war-related.> The 1996 World Almanac reports 70% Sunni Muslim (in north), 20% indigenous beliefs and 5% Christian (mostly in south). Just a few weeks until the new issue is due, should be interesting to compare undated changes. Ed

Douglas, essentially you are right, when all the news is in a stock it trades in a bound range, the bottom of this range is about 2.875 or so. This range is modulated by the general market direction and if we get a very bad decline, spikes under this range can occur. Furthermore, crude price is another modulator and it is in the middle of its own range between 18.5 to 21.5, a spike down to the bottom of this range could carry Aksef just below its arnge as the spike above a fortnight back brought it to the brink of breaking 4 (buying from the friendly Lunds helped as well)
