I found the comments on future modem design very intresting. It seems to me that their will soon be a switch in the way a modem are used in a lap-top. Now that modem speeds have gone up just about as high as possible for POTS lines. Why keep the existing use of modems as external cards that can be upgraded for higher speeds. When the shrinking footprint is putting a higher demand on usable surface area for other attachments.

Combine this with DR obtained kwoledge from developing BE There by putting a lot of hardware into a little space. Along, with what they have done by transfering modem functions to the system board and CPU.

Once again RACE could be a leader in market design of modems for lap-top.
