Shane and others:
10-q for qtr ending 9/30/97 filed this week with the SEC. A couple of
interesting points jumped out at me on the first reading. LSI purchased approx 400k shares at an average price of 31.75 in the qtr ending 9/30/97. (And I thought I was the only one foolish enough to
buy the stock at those prices). Perhaps somewhat less interesting, LSI noted that yen borrowings of yen 17 billion ($141 million) were outstanding at fixed rates ranging from 2.62% to 2.86%. During the first 9 months of 97 LSI sold $136.2 million of accounts receivable at a cost of .3%. Company noted that it has significant receivables and and expenses denominated in yen and that this exposure could impact earnings. Overall, interesting reading (OK its a cold rainy day and I am bored).
