Hi Frank. Wow, what did you all do to the market while I was off line? I think some of my stocks were down 20% in this latest sell-off. and I have not sold one single stock. It might have been better if I had sold a few, but how could I know that you all are so careless with our stocks? We went to Canada for a long weekend and then there was Veterans Day and my daughter had no school so we took off right away again and visited friends and travelled around Washington State a bit. I think I came back just in time yesterday to help out the market. By the time I was trying to go on line it was too busy to get on and I was gone last night. I took my grandson to school and will have to leave for Gymnastics with my grand-daughter soon. She has no school on Fridays. I might be able to catch up with some of the posts a little bit later but most of them are obsolete now to be answered. I have noticed that even you got a little un-nerved this time around. I am sure you are in the same boat I am. The market really is not that far down but our stocks are.

How about this deal with Iraq? Fast-track did not go through. I was
not totally for it but am not elated that it did not make it. In this environment it would have been better if it made it. I read one of our new posters message how wonderful fast-track is for US/Mexico and how everyone in Mexico just loves American stuff, namely our Utility cars. I would say that is about it. I don't think that I am short-sighted on this issue. It has not helped us much and will NOT get much better. A lot of industries are being negatively affected. Tech will be a winner if they buy enough from us. Yes, their wages went up, but no thanks to them. Lets say thanks to us. Their exports to us certainly have done them a lot of good. If I am short-sighted I would like to know from the long-sighted, how long do we have to wait to get this trade with Mexico back into balance? And every fast-track agreement will probably work out the same way. All the fast-track won't do us any good if we are kept out at their will. Look at Japan. We are helping China etc. now, let's see what the benefits will be to us. I already know the benefits in some cases. We put our money on the line, or have already done so in some cases. in order to help out their mis-managed economies!! Way to go. And now we will be kept hostage to a small degree to the Asian Flu. gg. But all in all I still stand by my original position that our techs should never have been hit like this. Suddenly the foreign markets don't look that great and more will be invested again in our own back yard. Like the old saying goes: The grass just looks greener on the other side.
I guess you have noticed that we are being constantly told to sit still and ride it all out. But whoever gives us this advise is certainly not sticking to it. The funds tell us to sit still and then we find out that they have a 100 to 300% turnover rate, the brokerage houses tell us to buy high and then sell low so they can pick up our stocks cheap. Unless you feel like trading, you are better off staying put. Longterm you will make out. But next time I will trade a little more. End of 99? gg.
Ok, now to my opinion on stocks. Still the same, I think we will do fine in our techs. TXN, CPQ, Intel etc. will go to new highs soon. Txn will have a longer haul than the rest. It lost 50% from its high in short order.

I will be away again for a long weekend, so I crammed everything I could think of into 1 post.

Good thing I am not leaving until early morning. Maybe I can hold the stocks up. I am not budging at this point. Hope the bulls will stay ahead. Wow, the market liked my post to you. gg. DOW up over 70 and NAZ up over 20. Maybe I should make this post even longer. It might go over 100 then? :-
