Have Camtasia licensed now and purchased "Effect Matrix Total Video Converter." It reads youtube video which "OJOsoft Total Video Converter" does not, but OJOsoft does have some nice features. Need to get a replacement backup hard drive from the store and will be offline a while. I really appreciate the help you are giving me.

I'm still learning Camtasia. The recording window is very precise, but getting a recording out of Camtasia requires 3 saves which is time consuming and trimming the timeline isn't accurate at all. I use Pinnacle for that. Not having 25fps seems odd if or when you want PAL so I use 30fps that has to be changed later. VirtualDub reads the AVI files made with the techsmith codec which is good. All in all it does a number of things and I'm still learning the features, but it is pricey for what it does. One major result of purchasing Camtasia though is that I'm using MP4 much more. I've read that Camtasia can use VirtualDub filters, but I haven't investigated that yet
