Frankly Daniel I don't care what the hell you invest in. I merely post what I believe to be true and share information and insights into what I believe is happening. I don't know who is clearly ahead in the wcdma development game, don't have any facts.

hi,

you said....."Telecom. is not a zero sum game. Just because one company does well, does not preclude another from growing their business too. Loved the "ericy has no clear lead in wcdma versus the other guys" comment.... so that just puts them on par with everyone else".

agree with your first part, and have a point to add for the second (although not you were not the original poster and just pointing something out).

WCDMA looks likely to be based somewhat around GSM due to the massive legacy built up around the world. This give Ericsson a clear advantage, lots of existing customers, better the devil you know.....
Given past history it is difficult to find another company, with the same attitude and capability in working in a global mobile telecoms market market IMHO. Nokia maybe. Qualcom certainly don't come anywhere near Ericsson in this respect (I wonder if US ambassidors are on commision).

Like the saying goes, buy the stock not the product.

cheers E
