Considering all the cheerleading that the right gave Bush for trying to bring democracy to the ME, am I wrong to wonder where those cheerleaders went?

We learned. Ten years of failure showed us we can't change the Muslim countries. Only they can change them. And the secular leaders only succeed when they establish a Military Dictatorship.

Most of us here had little knowledge of just how the setup worked over there. We now know.

Lumping all Muslim countries into one big group and believing if you want to invade one, it means you should automatically want to invade them all is nonsensical.

We have no strategic interest in Libya. And there is no reason to believe we're using our weapons as a way to move the country toward democratic principles. If Muslim countries want Gaddafi out, they have the means and ability to make it happen. Saudi Arabia can fly jets and drop bombs.

For all we know, Osama Ben Laden could be leading the opposition to Gaddafi and taking over the country a few months from now.

Would you consider that a successful operation?

The decision to drop bombs on Libya was made with as much deliberation as asking the question "can it support Obama getting re-elected". And that's it. We have no defined mission, not even a rough outline. What we have is the state department sending messages in conflict with the defense department.

There's obviously a total lack of leadership on this effort, beginning at the Commander in Chief's doorstep. The same Commander in Chief who ran on "Bush was a moron for going to war in Iraq, costing the nation billions and engendering hatred throughout the Middle East" platform.

Obamatrons are hypocrites of the highest order and if some on the confused "I voted for Obama and am desperately trying to find some reason to justify it" don't see it, that's their issue not this boards.

Kate,

For me there are two points. First, I have said that I believe we were right to intervene in Libya. Further, I have said Obama was right in not doing it until the rest of the world stepped up.

Now the second point which I believe is prompting this is that I believe that after 8 years of hate rhetoric from the "patriotic" left it is fully appropriate to use the same rhetoric against Team Obama that they used against Bush. When it was Bush doing anything it was by definition wrong and evil. When they do it is all "humanitarian". Well, I say BS. I give the bum credit in that he seems to have learned that much of his rhetoric was pure political convenience and empty minded stupid BS.

I believe once he actually got on the inside and had to do something other than run his mouth - he realized that some things had been done for good reason.

Well it is now his turn to hear the same that he gave.

Perhaps my favorite of the loony left is the clip below from the idiot who is a heart beat away. Perhaps Sarah was not qualified - but neither was Biden. Give a good listen to Biden in action and tell me what you think.

Bush didn't invade countries only to bring them democracy. Promotion of democracy was a side benefit.

Does anyone think Obamas really going to bring democracy to Libya? I don't think so ... he won't even say if his goal is regime change or not.

Well, Katelew, just for starters, Bush received the approval from the US Congress to go into Iraq....

something President had evidently NO intention of doing....
