When a person repeatedly lies, distorts, obfuscates and abandons previously held positions, it allows me to place in context the decision he's making today for the country. To dismiss the fact that he's a known liar and state "all politicians lie", without quantifying the context of the lie, or its importance, demonstrates acceptance, which is synonymous with "ok". It's also naive, because it places today's position on an equal footing of integrity as previously held positions 180 degrees in the opposite direction. The truth is all politicians don't lie. That's just a cliche' people toss around and pretend is an indisputable fact. Of course many politicians do lie, perhaps more so than your average American. Obama has lied more in two years, than Bush in eight years. Bush senior was excoriated in the press for lying about raising taxes, something he said he wouldn't do when running for office. Yet Obama has gotten a complete pass from the press for his many lies. From debating Health Care on C-Span, to posting legislation on the web days prior to being voted on, to Gitmo, war decisions, spending, lobbyists, taxes and just about everything else he ran on, Obama is an out and out liar of the first magnitude. You voted for him. I for one would be pretty disturbed if my BS sensor were completely fooled as yours apparently was a couple of years ago. Voting for Obama has led our nation down a destructive path that our grandchildren will still be paying for. In regard to "posting your diatribe to me". A few days ago you tossed the hard balls around claiming the right wing was being hypocritical for not supporting Obama's ill conceived Libyan war adventure. It was obvious to me those comments were pointed toward members of this thread. I'm still responding to the sarcastic tone of those posts. I consider you the Obama apologist on this thread. There's a big difference between someone who has a goal that's laudable, and someone who has integrity and executes the goal in a way that makes sense. I could have a goal that every person in America should have a job - communism had that goal. So, one can be for the spirit of an action, but against the action when the method employed, or the integrity of the action is deeply flawed. Obama's stated goal in Libya appeared to be centered on "preventing a massacre" and "installing a Democratic Government". Although factions within his administration differ on those stated goals, I believe both statements from the Obama administration are a lie. The motivation is a lie and the execution is deeply flawed. Believe him if you like, but there's an old saying about being fooled twice I would consider.
