Just like any of us can only produce this in physical form. I'm sure, if there are any attorneys on the thread, they would tell you that a certified copy, i.e. one with a raised seal, IS a legal document and has to be accepted as such by any agency or person or institution requiring a birth certificate. Kate, a certified copy of the original Birth Certificate is just that - a copy of the original that is certified as a true and correct copy of the original that is contained in the public record files. Therefore, the certified copy that Hawaii produces has to be acceptable, it seems to me. I feel like the birthers are caught in a circular argument of some kind. What was released by the campaign was a Certificate of Live Birth, which was not a certified copy of the original. I believe this is what the campaign produced: This is an example of an actual certificate, circa 1961. After making a big deal about it, Hawaii Governor Neil Abercrombie came out and admitted that he could not locate the original:examiner.com By the way, I'm not a Birther. I'm more in Jorj's camp, believing that there is something embarrassing about the original certificate that he does not released. It might be that Barack Hussein Obama, Sr. is not listed on the form as his father. O has created quite a story, starting with the Bill Ayers' written "Dreams of My Father" that relies on the narrative being that he is the son of a Kenyan exchange student. If that turns out to be untrue, he would be exposed as a fraud. This is but one explanation for why he has steadfastly refused to release the original and has paid big bucks to defend the lawsuits seeking to require its disclosure.
