Here are the "I do know better" actual numbers. 54% of the deficit WITHOUT touching the corporate subsidies and handouts were caused by the Bush Tax Cuts. economicpolicyresearch.org

The rest of the 70% can be attributed to the corporate handouts, tax holidays and general scams that find Exxon, GE, Google and Morgan Stanley smiling broadly while working Americans are getting royally screwed.

Letter to the Ruling Class
by admin on Apr 1, 2011 • 6:50 pm 992 Comments

You control our world. You’ve poisoned the air we breathe, contaminated the water we drink, and copyrighted the food we eat. We fight in your wars, die for your causes, and sacrifice our freedoms to protect you. You’ve liquidated our savings, destroyed our middle class, and used our tax dollars to bailout your unending greed. We are slaves to your corporations, zombies to your airwaves, servants to your decadence. You’ve stolen our elections, assassinated our leaders, and abolished our basic rights as human beings. You own our property, shipped away our jobs, and shredded our unions. You’ve profited off of disaster, destabilized our currencies, and raised our cost of living. You’ve monopolized our freedom, stripped away our education, and have almost extinguished our flame. We are hit… we are bleeding… but we ain’t got time to bleed. We will bring the giants to their knees and you will witness our revolution!

Sincerely,

The Serfs.

Once you get into counting all forms of tax "forgiveness", loopholes, write-offs, you approach Obama's Orwellian phrase, where any money not collected in taxes is called a "tax expenditure" - a turn of phrase which reveals Obama's attitude that ALL our money belongs to the government, they just graciously allow us to keep some of it. I didn't realize that you sympathized with this attitude.

Once you start playing that game, you can call the whole GDP less tax revenues a tax giveaway to <fill in the blank>.

>>You are not counting the subsidies and tax forgiveness (most recently offered to General Motors when they had a "profit") to oil companies and other corporations to invest outside the USA, which were part of the Bush tax program.<<

they WERE a part of bush's program.

they ARE a part of obama's program.

they ARE part of the self proclaimed financial elitists', who have gamed both parties, program.

then again, you know who controls the system and how they manipulate it for the special class.

playing pretend is so much fun!
