First off, you realize a graph indicating warming doesn't say anything about the cause. The graph you linked to shows warming prior to 1940 when fossil fuel use was modest compared to now, then declining temps for a few decades till a rise began again in 1980.

Second, there IS an issue with GISS's historical temperatures having been changed. In fact, we know they have from GISS's own historical charts:

Compare the temps in 1940 with those in 1980 below - you can see that in 1980, GISS said 1940 was warmer than 1980 - they changed that in later years.

Also compare the decade of the 1960's (blue line) with the decade of the 1950's (red line). In 1980, GISS said the '60's were cooler than the '50's. By 1987, they'd made them more equal and by 2007, they'd made the '60's warmer than the '50's.



There is no doubt at all GISS has been changing the historical temperature records.
