Henry,

Reading the 10 K filed today and it has a couple of interesting statements. It seems to indicate that the 20 day period is computed back from whenever the closing date of the ALRT deal will be. Thus, until the deal closes (whenever that may be) we do not know when the 20 day window is for computing the # of shares.

The other item I noticed was the comment that they were still looking at paying out more cash and less stock in the ALRT deal. They then noted that it would impact their cash position. I wonder if they have another cash infusion in the works and that is why the ALRT deal did not get closed on Nov.3.

You can get the 10 K at this site freeedgar.com

I am a first time poster to this thread. While I find Ligand an interesting company, I find this thread psychotic. Chill out, guys. So the damn stock goes down a little bit; so has Ariad and other Companies absolutely equivalent to Ligand. And, Dr. Henry Niman, don't give me your normal BS spin about Ligand's superiority. I've done my homework. You've insulted the Agouron thread via your insensitivity re Aids. Your sole goal on SI appears to be to denigrate the competition, such as AGPH and AMLN, so as to promulgate your financial interest in your beloved LGND. As for Andrew H., I challenge other followers of LGND to discern if there is a difference between AH and Henry. Are they the same person? Who else has paid such close attention to Henry's daughter's sports activities? Who cares?

If I am out of line, let me know, right now, right here.

>>Although Andy is confident that he will have two bottles of wine by the end of the year,<<

I'm sure you'll be saying thre same thing on December 31. (:>)

In any case, I hope you are right, but time is running out, Henry. Just a bit over 30 more trading days.

>>As soon as Andy begins to complain about LGND's price performance, it almost always takes off. I expect that to happen again, very soon.<<

How dare you use me as a contrary indicator!! If it turns out to be true, I'll have to start complaining when LGND's price is higher.

FWIW, I am expecting news and higher prices soon, myself. But 20 by the end of December seems elusive.

>> I expect a media blitz, with press releases, general science, and new recs. The price should now be low enough for some of the analysts to begin talking their talk.<<

Sounds good, Henry. Where is all that news, anyway? I'm ready. Bring on the media blitz and the analyst recs.

The escalating crisis in Iraq is surely scaring the market
at this point, and it could get worse.
