"our situation was known to him before he ran for president."

Well, actually alan, the global economic collapse was UNKNOWN to him until it was allowed to happen by the Bush admin. before he took office. Many, many other things are unknown to a candidate until he actually BECOMES president. Obama was handed the worst plate of shit of any president in my lifetime.

Then, also, after a candidate becomes president, he gets THE TALK, which we've discussed here. The only depiction I've seen of THE TALK was in the movie "JFK", where Johnson received THE TALK in the living room of one of our behind-the-curtain rulers, who had just ordered the assassination of JFK.

But, none of us really know what is said in THE TALK. We only know that the people we vote for are transformed by it, and not for our benefit.

In my imagination, Bush was never given THE TALK. The string-pullers realized that he was so stupid and easily manipulated that they didn't have to. Besides, they had Cheney and Rumsfeld on the inside..

I clearly remember closely watching the clip showing O's facial expression emerging from the room after his closed door briefing on the economy prior to inauguration. He looked like he just stepped from the morgue and NOT intensive care. It was then he knew just how deep the doo doo was and it was a lost cause. He saw a dead economy, not something even comatose. From that point on, he knew he was a puppet given an empty workshop and had no choice but to "obey" the advisers.
