I gotta tell you...tonight for the first time I had a chance to snoop around some of the hundreds of threads on SI. I was checking a few out called SOES and CHEAP ONLINE FIRMS and other sites. I go on these threads and the logic of some of these investors is wild, absolutely off-base. People talking about how upset they were that PCFIN charged them $40 for 2000 shares of Dell. Hello, first off, we are talking about $150,000 in stock but MORE IMPORTANTLY, how about the 1/8 and 1/4 them probably made on teh 2000, for about $250 to $500 since PCFIN is Donaldson Lufkin and DLJP makes markets..big time. People complaining about $20 fees for credit cards and ..1%difference in interest rates on margin. Wild stuff! Penny wise and pound foolish. The whole focus of their conversations is totally misguided. And, while I am totally respectful of their efforts, I can't believe how offbase some of thee people are. That is one of the problems with the internet and a site like SI. As well, one of the threads there is just FLAT OUT , plain and simple pumping of a stock and a firm BY THE FIRM ITSELF. I mean, anyone who has followed my posts etc. knows that on occassion I say something positive aboutmy firm, i use steve@yamner.com, but that is because I truly believe in the overall benefit to the client of our firm's services. As wel, I think I had valuable content and if anything, a conservative, hold your horses, approach which is way more old time, old school than most. But some of these threads are like " Come to us and drop xyza we'll give you kickass commissions and instant executions via. online.' I mean, comeone, you could pick tremendous wholes in that swiss cheese. I'm sorry didnt mean to gripe but it was the first time I had really gone out there and it "scared" me a bit. Toall, Please, please , please be careful about what you read on these threads, including this one. regards, steve@yamner.com
