Ok, let's follow your logic. Intel was up against a P4 power wall with no viable alternative, so they instantly produced Core2 within days of realizing they were in trouble. No advanced planning whatsoever. Brilliant!

that's your bs logic as always. there were follow ups to p4 which had still longer pipelines and larger power envelopes. if it weren't for the israeli guys we would be buying 500w intel cpus today. the guys in haifa were just working on a sort of backup project for a mobile processor after the timna debacle. it was not planning but more of luck which saved intel's bacon ;-)
