it's funny but I see a lot of not complimentary euphemisms for Windows and Microsoft coming from computer professionals such as your self - engineers working for ISPs for instance.

We non-tech types can only imagine why those contemptuous remarks are made - but you've given us a clue with your designation of "a very ugly API". Thanks.
