Teri, just wondering

What is the relation between

<<As someone who has lived in the Middle East, speaks the languages, and knows the culture intimately,>>

and this

<<I read Ike's posts for both his macro economic overview and other market insights. I have seen, time and time again, clashes which result from the slightest challenge to his "ideas", the result being elimination of dissent from his thread(to its own detriment).>>

Aren't you extrapolating unneccessarily ?

Peace & Regards
Shivu

Teri, thanks for your kind remarks

We are all influenced by environmental factors--whether cultural, family or other elements. This can impact our attitudes and reactions to other people. I have had the experience of living several years each on four different continents during my life. I have also travelled extensively and the potential for misunderatanding can be quite staggering because of cultural and language differences. Now add to that the difficulties in communicating in a written form where the use of certain words, phrases and other nuances can be the cause of serious misunderstanding and the powder keg can be easily lit.

My regards to you
