And Trudeau won on a pledge that he would not implement price and wage controls. Of course, the standard rebuttal is that "things changed", so I had to change my position accordingly. And when a new party takes power, there is always the "We knew things were bad, but we had no idea that they were this bad. The previous government hid skeletons in every closet". Just like a new CEO who comes in and cleans house.
