Make sure you get a pic of it and, more important, an appraisal, and submit those with the return

I donated a 300 item a few yrs ago and it triggered an audit, cuz I diddnt have them

Later, I donated 30,000 worth of dental equipment with appraisals and pics and no audit

Hammer and chisel is the best tool, but if you are not paranoid like me, even True Image comes with a disk eraser.

Of you could try:

I believe both Glary Utilities and Advanced SystemCare 3 have "free space" wiping functions in them if you happen to have either of them on your computer. Both of these programs are free.

Tom

I know it's a late reply, but re:<Does anybody here have suggestion for a free wipe drive?>

DBAN (Darik's Boot And Nuke) is a free program widely used in the open software community to completely wipe a hard drive to many different standards levels including various Dod standards. Works with Windows, too. Perfect for wiping a pc HD before giving it away or selling.

I've used it on two separate PCs prior to donating.
