Is that the only way you think.....in terms of profits????? That's what the oil companies do because it's their lively hood.. Do you work for an oil company? Are you only interested in the next two years or so? Do you ever think beyond a couple of years and beyond someones immediate profits????? Do profits take precedence over the common good???

5 billion barrels is a drop in the bucket as regards oil reserves...

That's essentially Shep's argument. That $100 won't be sufficient for your retirement so you should leave it on the ground.
