It is a marketing ploy, Ten.

I'm sure INTC commonly produces 300 processors in a month so they can take advantage of the huge of marketing benefit of claiming, "Demand is so great, we sold all 300 we produced!"

Btw, they're now saying they're going to shut the plant down for two months in Jun and Jul so they can retool to build more. But supplies will be further limited as a result.

So, they're covered until August. Sounds like buying time to me. I can't wait to hear what they come up with then.

Face it Al, if GM could make more, they would make more. It makes no sense to artificially "limit" production.

I don't think they are artificially limiting production...i think they are methodically ramping production, including the introduction into the channel (service, parts, etc...)...and probably battling battling parts availability...i can easily see that problem when it comes to batteries for instance. There is no way they have demand issues...

The batteries are the major problem.
