Bush, receiving a budget SURPLUS, handed Obama an economy that was losing 800,000 jobs a MONTH, and getting WORSE. The unemployment rate was 8.2% when Obama took office.

en.wikipedia.org

Bush DESTROYED our economy, tried desperately to prop his sham economy up by borrowing from China until Obama took over, and failed.

Obama has faced an (R) party dedicated to keeping the economy down so they can blame it on HIM this election cycle.

Ted, > You mean since Bill Clinton.

First things first. Get to at least George W. Bush level, which was a bit below 5%. Clinton wasn't that much better anyway.

Oh please. The Bush years were a dismal failure economically. Only the rich progressed financially even if the unemployment rate stayed around 5%. That fact was pointed out repeatedly on this thread but promptly ignored by all of you. So its no surprise that now you are trying to pretend it was a golden era.

I am still against deficit spending.

Oh bullshit, Obama presides over trillion dollar deficits and you're still his number one cheerleader.

Yup. And he wouldn't have to be spending trillions if Bush and his cronies had done their job properly.......like catching bin Laden and ending the wars in the ME sooner rather than later.

Only thing that's changed is that there's a (D) in the White House. All of a sudden, deficit spending is "vital" for the economy.

The only thing that's changed is there is a man in the WH who has a brain and knows that gov't can work for all the people and not just the rich. He's cleaning up Bush's mistakes. When that's done, we will see progress re. the deficit and the country's debt load......during his second term.

Remember this chart........nothing has changed:

You all have nothing......and you know it. Your ideology has failed on so many levels its pathetic. Time to break up the GOP and start over.

"Obama presides over trillion dollar deficits and you're still his number one cheerleader."

Virtually all of which was backed in before he took office.

Running two wars will do that...
