I am trying to discipline
myself in my trading. That is the hardest part and that is the key. I'm full of advice
and trying my hardest to follow it as well.

Harry,

Excellent post! And a good formula for success in life in general.
So, you may have heard the tree falling in the forrest after all?

Jeff

What do you do when the stock that you just sold to limit loss (to 7-10%) came roaring back and went even higher? How can you be sure the other stock you bought using the remaining capital will outperform? Many tech issues' daily ranges are up and down 10%. Those advisors also want us to be patient and not time the market, but on the other hand, they say sell when the loss is 10%,15%,20% or whatever. It seems to be contradictory . My lesson is: Don't use too much margin and always have 12 months cash reserve no matter how badly you want to average down.

***money management***. Limit your losses, you must protect your

Excellent post. Since I am quite a newbie in trading, I would say
that this advice would have helped with my control of loss or
better lack of control.

All I can say is the reason I got into Ascend is that I feel this
company will suceed just by what I have heard on SI amd via the
network grapevine. AT@T should be buying millions of dollars worth
of equipment soon. Just a rumour so don't ask me how I know if it
is good information or not? Who knows... <G>

All and all. The people on SI are a great bunch of people, at least
on the Ascend and Fore threads which I have been reading.

Getting used to all of this is just part of the fun.
