<<<I believe the Cascade deal may have contributed to the slide>>>

Probably, but conversely, Cascade may also contribute to ASND's rise:

"The Frame Relay Market" from (J.P. Morgan - Equity Research)
The latest Vertical Systems research projects that the carrier and ISP frame relay market will grow about 23% annually from 1996 through 2000, and recent projections from several other industry research groups project annual growth at nearly 30% annually. Ascend, via its Cascade aquisition, should remain the leader in the carrier and ISP frame relay market with a 24% share.

Recently, Maverick posts that "CSCC is doing rather well leveraging ASND international channels and connections".
I think its safe to say that the NTT deal was won in part due to Cascade frame relay, and that others will likely follow suit..........AT & T WorldNet, MCI, etc.

I never made that claim myself, but simply noted that the street was not happy with the deal.

Harry, just a note. I also heard rumours that LU is not happy with
the Livingston deal and probably want to accumulate 15% of ASND stock.
Just a rumour but it's always fun to read. LU probably thinks it
wasted 650M. Hmmm

Ascend and it's Management will soon part. Oh that was a fool and
his money. <G>
