OK, I did what was suggested to repair the damaged sectors in the ext drive

I then used Acronis to back up onto this drive

The puter crashed at the very end, giving me the blue screen and lots of verbiage which I dont remember

I shut down the puter; then restarted it

Then I decided to back up using the new seagate ext drive, plugged into the back of the puter

Same friggin result!!

So now it appears that Acronis is to blame

Some one suggested I use EASEUS as a substitute

Any suggestions? At this point I dont have a usable backup

Is there a way for me to find out if the original ext disk is OK?

Im ready to go nuts with this problem
