There were a few negative reviews for Slim Driver where the wrong driver was installed. If you're unlucky and it installs an incorrect driver then you have to waist time fixing. For me, not worth the time or hassle. Would rather pay for a good driver update program.

shadowman, I tried Slimdrivers yesterday. It wants to install an AVG toolbar, but gives a choice. The scan for drivers was fast and it found 7 replacable drivers. I clicked, asking it to fix 2, one of them for Nvidia. After that I tried to run 'Acer eDisplay Management' [a tech had suggested replacing the Nvidia driver]. 'eDisplay Management' opened but no longer responded to clicks. I then downloaded the new driver directly from Nvidia [as the tech had suggested] and 'Acer eDisplay Management' worked again.

Scanned for obsolete drivers with Slimdrivers again and it said there were 2 obsolete drivers [I had expected 5: 7 from the first scan minus the 2 it fixed.]

First thing this morning there was a Slimdrivers popup asking for a rating. I ignored it.

I'm not too impressed with Slimdrivers and will probably only update drivers when something fails.
Slimdrivers does give you dates for the old and new drivers after a scan, though, before you replace.
There's no harm in trying Slimdrivers to scan for obsolete drivers, but I wouldn't replace any unless there was a known problem.

PS: I fixed my display problem, but doubt the Nvidia driver played a role. I had to do 'color calibration' manually because the automatic setup within 'Acer eDisplay Management' didn't do the complete job.

I run WinXP
