When the money runs out and their false sense of security has left them with pain and hunger, half of them will still point and blame conservatives for the failing, but most will assume the mob mentality and attack the target de jour.

I watched Stossel's "Money Hole" segment last night. It focuses on the utter failure of the politicians to face up to the economic realities of the time. He focused part of the segment on Pritchard, AL. Some years back the town was warned it would run out of money in 2009. It did, and 77 year old retired public employees have had to go back to work because their pensions are worthless. Yet, the mayor earns a $100,000 salary,, the city owns a number of little-used buildings and it just paid to revamp its website. Until the people wake up and throw out the ruling class that seems to enjoy spending other people's money, it will only get worse.

The Stossel piece is worth watching if you get a chance.
