Is it really a good idea to focus your investment thinking upon that which once was? That which is now and that which "will" be seems much more relevant. Folks around here, and you especially, really need to get over the past and focus upon what's happening today. It wasn't just a fluff piece in the New York Times that recently caught my attention. Courting media IS a 2011 theme. PR is best when it is truly genuine but if one has to buy it, so be it. I just consider it important to be cognizant of that possibility and it's implications.

Ps Do you read what I write?

Jeffery, I see you (and others?) may consider "Jacob's Patter" to be a reference to what Dr. Jacob's said. FYI, my reference to "Jacobs Patter" was not such, but a reference to the article entitled "Jacobs Patter" which was BS. Sometimes I find folks around here are just out to get me. My words and thoughts sure get twisted. Why that has to be is beyond my comprehension. Everyone has a right to see matters in ways that match their own beliefs. Appreciation of such differences is what use to make this thread of value. Times have changed.

Bdazz, ---> disingenuous tactic huh???

Jefferies post was full of points from 5+ years past and this is an investment thread. Why is pointing that out disingenuous?

I also have no clue as to what position you think I don't feel good about. I don't see Qualcomm as being as almighty as many others around here might. That is not because I see them failing to think straight but because I see them consistently been late delivering upon the expectations that they themselves set. I feel pretty good that that is a very valid position.

I also don't criticise Qualcomm for not being in the ipad, at this time. I criticise Qualcomm for being the first to set expectations for always-on smartbooks and for being the last in getting adequate product delivered to our local stores. They do create vision for the industry but have always been late in getting their components into the visionary products. As I previously stated they do lead with HTC smartphones and LTE but have yet to deliver a whelming shelf presences within the wifi/3G tablet category.

As you know, I own Qualcomm for their wireless vision and their enabling position within the industry. It is not that they are failing to perform on that front, but that their partnering efforts are not performing at my level of expectation which was created solely for closely following Qualcomm and the wireless industry for the last 20 years.

They can do better. They always seem to be stumbling about in a reactionary manner addressing issues needing a fix rather than setting the pace with innovative and timely product delivery. This is especially true for app processors within the tablet category and early-on smart phones. Others obviously see that differently, so be it.
