You can keep shifting the goal posts...The rules for participation in Olympics were not laid by the Chinese. Playing under the rules they won convincingly.

In 1940s, it was probably assumed that blacks could not play baseball or basketball well enough.

Talking about chess, here is No 1 chess player in the world is from India. .

en.wikipedia.org

And there are increasing number of Grandmasters from India - 18 in all.

en.wikipedia.org

>How did they go in the Olympic chess, sprinting and basketball Arun? As I mentioned, it's a matter of quality, not quantity. Gold medals in badminton, water ballet and whatnot don't count. Even with 2 billion people in China, winning the chess will be a stretch and beating Usain Bolt would remain a no go. >

>Apart from the raw material [the DNA] the cultural bias [repression and totalitarianism] is not "the right stuff". >

It is mostly cultural bias. Many startups in silicon valley have Taiwanese founders. There is probably not too much difference in the genetics of the general chinese population and the taiwanese population.

Apply founder, Steve Jobs, is biologically half Syrian...father was Abdulfattah Jandali

en.wikipedia.org

>Jobs was born in San Francisco, California[1] and was adopted by Paul and Clara Jobs (née Hagopian)[24] of Mountain View, California, who named him Steven Paul. Paul and Clara later adopted a daughter, who they named Patti. Jobs' biological parents — Abdulfattah Jandali, a Syrian[25] graduate student who later became a political science professor,[26] and Joanne Simpson, an American graduate student[25] who went on to become a speech language pathologist[27] — later married, giving birth to and raising Jobs' biological sister, the novelist Mona Simpson

Past performance is no guarantee of future performance.. as Chinese turn their attention to different things .. it is becoming interesting.. Chinese leadership cannot turn back now.. unless they choose suicide ... and then they would be irrelevant..
