All - Can this 200MB 3.5" floppy drive be a Zip and Clik killer?

<And the recording software doesn't need to be as complex as RecordIt. There are digital telephone answering machines today, built around chips which would work nicely for a digital note recording machine.>

Allen said it, but I never thought of the IOM answering machine. Just about everybody with a phone has one. Another small market, and I bet there are many.... Over the next few quarters, don't be surprised if one day all those supporters of the Clik won't come out with big announcements and we will see a few small surprises along the way as well. You really can't afford to be out of this stock.

But one thing Rocky is right about...Price will be restrictive until cost drop.

>>You could definitely get 2 + hours of mono, 8-bit, 11KHz sampling rate recording onto a clik! disk.<<

Please check my math:

9 minutes of audio @44.1k 16 bit =

36 minutes @11k 16 bit =

72 minutes @11k 8 bit

So with 72 minutes of audio that actually sounds worse than mini-cassette, you have to pay $10 with Clique. Meanwhile, you get 3 hours for the same price of better quality audio if you use mini-cassette. Plus, the player is far cheaper and easier to use, uses less power, has a built-in mic and speaker, and can be dragged through the hell that is my life.
