jd, good points. don't count ibm out - i noticed you didn't mention them. their latest volley into the pc wars is a full featured box for $99 - better than cpq. it will be a hot seller unless cpq offers more or charges much less. not good for tier ii manufacturers, imho... btw, gtw's best feature - and nobody has mentioned it - is that they include ms office. this is no small feature - however, it only appeals to a limited market. they need to offer more options. their $1500 box does include ms office, right?
