I read a customer loyalty survey somewhere in SI. The top three were CPQ, GTW, and AAPL (not necessaily in that order). If I find it again I'll post it.

Apple probably does have higher cutomer loyalty but among IBM clones Gateway is the highest. Anyway given Apple's problems the few people I know who have Apple systems will not buy them again.
Also I did speak to one rude customer serivice rep at Gateway so I just called again to get another rep who was more than helpful. Although this was not the greatest experience I happen to work in the service industry and know that few people can do it without developing burnout. jds

Hi woldog2, I second jds motion. Our family has owned a 166 for over two years now and it has been fantastic only had to replace our cd rom at NO CHARGE and NO QUESTIONS ASKED from GTW tech. support. My son was just accepted at Cornell and we sent him off with a 233MMX it has been fantastic. His laser light didn't align in his cd rom GTW tech. came to the college replaced and installed it in three days. We have the PLATINUM SERVICE paid $99 for it for 3 years it has save our butts numerous times and was worth every cent! My wife is the techy and has talked to technical support at all hours and they have e ALWAYS been courteous and helpful.

I have sold many friends on GTW computers and they love them!

My friend Dan a VP @ AG Edwards bought one for his kids and they love it. All of my orthopedic surgeons acquaintenances have GTW laptops and never leave home without them! Many brokers I knew at Prudential had GTW's and couldn't rave enough about them or their technical support.

Our friend Ann will be purchasing a computer shortly and guess what it will be? It sure as hell won't be a Dell or CPQ both their technical support staffs leave a lot to be desired.

We will be purchasing our next GTW the second half of 1998. Yes you can bet your sweet bippy GTW will still be their and have our loyal customer support as they have been great to us and have ALWAYS gone above and beyond the call of duty to help us.

Oh yeah I forgot I even had my mother purchase one after visting us this June. She loves it and is sitting up an account with Quick and Reilly to do internet trading. Go Granny go!!!

Actually I should be on the GTW sales staff as I have done more than my quota for sales for them by word of mouth and have never had or heard of any regrets from the people I recommended them to.

Al
