Unfortunately I should avoid getting into specifics of such technology on this forum...

I am deeply concerned that the FAA will make deep cuts
in the number of ground based navigational systems, (( and especially the people who maintain them)) based upon GPS enabled current and future replacements.

They will do this in response to (Often illogical) across the board budget cuts, (which surely will come )) in the coming decade .

The FAA has always had a very small Frequency Management group, which tracked down offending stray radio carriers and similar interference to radio and vital navigational aid systems.

In the ((upcoming)) era of reduced budgets and personnel ... it will surely be
virtually impossible for this group to even begin to trace down interference with GPS based landing systems, etc .

This standard response, IMHO will simply place the Fox in charge of the chicken coop...

There must be an automated look, listen, and avoid system
available to the FAA & and the communications systems makers themselves ....

Some food for thought (( as you watch your aircraft make a
GPS enabled decent onto a runway that is obscured by fog and rain ))

To actually answer your question..

Having the GPS Guided Glide Slope & Localizer system issue a pilot warning , during the airplane's descent ... might be
a tad too late , for the 100 or so passengers aboard.

On the other hand, if the communication system had the ability
to see hear and avoid the gps's assigned spectrum ....
those passenger could live to tell about their comfortable flight experience.

I'm sure that many of those political and strong arm techniques are in play.. Greedy sobs will always try to
protect their turf ... but (as a person who dedicated half a life to the safety of those thousands who used my navigational
and data processing systems .... I come from a more sober and concerned point .
