the very rich crush the poor and middle class in this country.

The above reminds me of a movie where the retired Maria was asked to help the young Mafia to rob a bank. The senior man answered: "At most I can only eat three times a day, and I wear clothes one pair at the time, and I sleep on one bed. Why would I need more money for?"

Why would anybody earning millions dollars a year needing tax cut? You cannot take it when you leave this earth.

So many on the right are actually poor or middle class who are convinced that the government is out to take what they have and give it to "lazy bum crowd". They seem to be focused on kicking the folks on the ladder below them, not realizing that as they do so the truly rich folks on the ladder above them are picking their pockets.

That seems to explain why health care reform is so difficult. The rich, in this case insurance company executives, have convinced the middle class that any meaningful change would reduce the quality of their health care - which is simply untrue.

That also explains the paradox that these same middle class folks who fought against health care reform (Horrors! Socialized medicine!) are now fighting against changes to Medicare and Social Security - two rather socialist programs by definition. It's theirs, and they don't want to give it up.

We need to figure out how to break this faulty groupthink. There are a number of liberal organizations that promote liberal views, but to little effect. We always seem to be on the defensive. MoveOn got a bit to radical for most folks.

Perhaps there's a need for a well financed moderate-liberal umbrella organization similar to the right wing Heritage Foundation that can better advance the liberal agenda in a proactive way?

Well, that is what I have been watching for 30 years as the very rich crush the poor and middle class in this country.

Let me ask you, would you have been happy in Germany in 1930 watching Hitler rise to power?

Oh give me a break. You're equating Obama with Hitler now? You're certifiable. Seriously.
