Obama should declare victory in Afghanistan and tell the troops to COME HOME by the end of 2011... That's extraordinarily unlikely for the simple reason that after occupying the country for ten years, you can't simply just pack up and walk away. The US saw that with Vietnam. After all, this is not like spending the summer at the cabin and deciding to leave a week early. You're being very unrealistic IMO.

Exactly! <<Obama should declare victory in Afghanistan and tell the troops to COME HOME by the end of 2011...maybe Obama needs to be more like GW Bush -- tell the commanders, the congress and the military industrial complex that it's my way or the highway...stop trying to be the perfect CENTRIST and start leading...get our country out of the worst quagmire since Vietnam...Afghanistan is where empires go to die...we gotta do nation building at home and let's tell the Afghanistan leaders that we're leaving -- and sooner rather than later...we may leave some Special Forces and the CIA to monitor and prevent Al Qaeda from training but we don't need tens of thousands of troops over in the mountains of Afghanistan...a smart president would bring over 90% of our troops home in 2011 - and tell the Commanders to make it happen.>>
