How about those that are forced to defend themselves and their homes?

Laws change. There have been a lot of people that have gone to jail because of defending themselves and loved ones. Some states have modified their laws to protect these victims. Some still label such people as violent criminals.

I'm one of those.

From what you have stated, so far, I'm under the impression that you believe I have earned the death penalty.
