John maybe sgi is ok but they may have goosed up previous quarters' numbers to sell out in advance of this latest debacle. P/S they are only as cheap as DEC which has improving fundamentals IMO. Certainly 12 was about as low as SGI got last time. Last Xmas they got a boost from Nin-64 intro. They need to sell servers. Know anybody else selling servers?

John-
From all I can find out SGI has good products but their marketing and sales department stinks. The CEO has evidently not been "tending to the store" and things went to pot. He has stepped down and the board is now in the process of looking for a new CEO. I believe if they get the right man that the company will make a good recovery. I have been in and out of the stock several times the past 6 months, and had a good profit in it. But I got greedy and was loaded up on it when it nosedived. Now I have my hook hung . For long term 9 months to a year I believe it to be a good buy at this price.

Happy Hunting

John, I have a UNIX background and I told everyone, that every pure UNIX player is bound to go north due to the sheer market power of WindowsNT. So is SGI. You may have a speculative chance within a 6 month timeframe, but I don't see a great future for the company (and the stock of course). So call me a SGI bear. I should have put my money where my mouth is. Now I wouldn't short it, but buying is high risk.

Best regards

Paul
