Naomi........I am so impressed! 61 yrs and still going strong. You must be very proud and also have a wonderful husband that cares very much. I believe the marriages that last are the ones where from the very beginning there is a lot of love and the people involved have their priorities straight. So many people get married on a whim and don't really take their professed commitment seriously. Plus there just isn't a sufficient amount of love for the marriage to succeed.

It sounds like you had a wonderful time and isn't it just great when the food is good. We went to a new restaurant in town called "The Big Fish Grill" tonight. I had Halibut Cheeks and hubby had Parmesan encrusted Halibut. Both were served with Basmati Rice and al dente green beans and red peppers. We started with steamed mussels and clams in a wine/garlic/cream sauce. They served yummy toast points with that. We both just scarfed it up. The entire dinner was very good.

Congratulations on 61 yrs together. ;)

Thanks,Naomi! It's been a lovely day...We have finally decided what we are going to do this next week....several options, but decided on a Road Trip around Eastern Washington down to Eastern Oregon, and over to Portland and some of the Oregon-WA Coast, then back this way...It should be fun....

The casino for a couple of hours is fun....don't spend lots of money, and it just is mind numbing for awhile....Would have done better today had I followed your lead...I put the winnings away, but the nearly when I was going to leave, decided to try a little more....IF I hadn't done that, I would have been even....sometimes you win, sometimes you don't.

Happy 61st Anniversary! Your dinner with long time friends sounds like it was lots of fun....bet that steak was good too! And as I said, I think my favorite cake is the white with lemon filling and the frosting with a liquid fondant-like topping that hardens a bit....Nummy!

We're going to go find the sun for awhile, so probably will come back here and find we missed the cooler weather of Seattle....Isn't it always that way?

Congratulations on a very long marriage, Naomi. That doesn't happen all by itself--it takes love and commitment.
