Our good friends who went to dinner with us usually go up to Portland, Oregon to celebrate their anniversary every year, but this year she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, had a lumpectomy and starts her radiation treatments on July 5th. Has not heard whether she will do it for five days two times a day or have to take it for five weeks two times a day. She did have Stage One so caught it early and doing radiation as a precautionary measure. She went ready to start and they asked her if she took any supplements and they do take them so they told her to stop taking them and come back then to start her treatments in July.

Your trip sounds like a great get away and hope you have a great time. It is terribly hot here with temps in the late 90's and some days in the l00's. We live in air conditioned houses and go get into air conditioned cars to go go air conditioned malls and restaurants or offices and that is how we handle the heat. Of course our A/C bills are much higher in July and August. It seems that everything we do or eat is costing so much more these days, I'm praying to see a totally new administration take over next year. If not, we are all going to have to tighten our belts and try to get through all the changes Obama is going to put us through by changing our laws that might bankrupt us all. God forbid. I wonder at times if we will ever be able to pay down the National Debt and not have to leave the burdens on our children and grand children to figure out how to pay it. I know higher taxes are coming. School taxes here are escalating each year and on them we only get a 20% reduction for school taxes after reaching 65 and they always go up every year and not frozen like property taxes.

I mentioned to my husband tonight we should think about taking a vacation this year. He told me that sounded like a good idea and he would check his schedule to see when it would be possible for him. I am always ready to travel being already retired and told him if he would retire he wouldn't have to worry about work schedules any longer. Doubt that will happen any time soon though as he does love what he is doing.

I planned not to bowl this summer but when I went in for my six months checkup last Monday my Dr. said he did not want me to stop even for the summer so I called yesterday and will start back bowling next week. Won't let that stop me from taking a vacation though. The team I will be joining has lacked a fourth member from the start of the league so I don't think they would object to me missing a couple weeks to vacation somewhere.

Let me know if you make it to my neighborhood. It'd be fun to get together.

Thanks,Naomi! It's been a lovely day...We have finally decided what we are going to do this next week....several options, but decided on a Road Trip around Eastern Washington down to Eastern Oregon, and over to Portland and some of the Oregon-WA Coast, then back this way...It should be fun....
